We’ll be updating this page regularly with information regarding

Ridge Care’s Preparations for
COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Saturday, March 14, 2020 (All Community Visitation Now Restricted)

Under the most recent guidance from state regulators and public health officials, effective immediately, we are restricting all resident visitation at Ridge Care Senior Living’s assisted living and memory care communities in North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia. Exceptions to these restrictions will only be made for extenuating circumstances and must be approved and scheduled by each community’s executive director. These restrictions will remain in place until further notice.

We recognize and deeply regret the hardships these restrictions will cause for our residents and those who love them. We’ll provide more information about options for staying in touch remotely in a forthcoming communication.

In the interim, please feel free to call or email the community’s executive director directly to inquire about your loved one’s condition or to have a message delivered to them personally by a team member. And, of course, you will be contacted immediately, per our standard policies, in the event of any significant change in your loved one’s health care status.

You have my personal assurances that we’ll do everything within our power to keep your loved ones safe, well, and engaged under these less than ideal circumstances.

Thank you for the trust and confidence you place in us.

Friday, March 13, 2020 (Further Restrictions to Visitation)

Late this afternoon, Governor McMaster ordered that all assisted living and skilled nursing facilities in South Carolina restrict outside visitation except in extreme extenuating circumstances, such as when an end-of-life situation may require family members to be present.

We intend to comply fully with the governor’s directive and will, therefore, immediately restrict all visitation to Arbor Landing at Pawleys until further notice.

We recognize and deeply regret the hardships these restrictions will cause for our residents and those who love them. We’ll provide more information about options for staying in touch remotely in a forthcoming communication.

In the interim, please feel free to call or email me directly to inquire about your loved one’s condition or to have a message delivered to them personally by an Arbor Landing team member. My email address is: anita.williams@ridgecare.com.

Thursday, March 12, 2020 (Enhanced Visitor Screening)

Effective immediately, visitation to our communities will be restricted for any individual who meets the following criteria:

  1. Has traveled internationally or in areas heavily impacted by COVID-19 in the past 14 days
  2. Is experiencing symptoms associated with a respiratory infection, including fever or a persistent cough
  3. Has had contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19/the coronavirus

All individuals wishing to enter the community — including team members, home health personnel, therapists, etc. — will be required to check-in for screening prior to being permitted entrance.

To ensure compliance with our screening process, visiting hours at all Ridge Care Senior Living communities will be restricted to between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays until further notice. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Nonessential visits by individuals who are not members of a resident’s immediate family – even if those individuals are healthy – are highly discouraged and may be denied at management’s discretion.

Additional restrictions may be necessary as conditions warrant.

Friday, February 28, 2020 (Preparations for Coronavirus)

Please know that we’re closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19, commonly called the coronavirus, and are making necessary preparations to keep our residents well should the disease begin to affect our area.

Ridge Care Senior Living, our parent company, has developed an internal task force to guide our community’s preparations, including the following actions:

  1. Monitoring briefings from federal and state public health authorities and being actionable with their recommendations.
  2. Receiving ongoing education and guidance from an infectious disease specialist, who will brief our leadership teams on evolving information about the status of the disease, its characteristics, and the latest precautionary measure recommendations.
  3. Monitoring personal protective equipment (PPE) inventories and placing additional orders in anticipation of possible shortages.
  4. Implementing additional infection-control training requirements for all team members.

Should the disease begin impacting our area on a widespread basis, visitor restrictions may be necessary, as directed by local health authorities.

In the interim, and out of an abundance of caution, if you have traveled to countries in Asia or other countries that are currently being affected by the disease in the last month, please reach out to me by telephone or email prior to visiting our community.

We will provide additional coronavirus-related communications as conditions warrant.
